I'm lonely and isolated in this

ADHD parent behaviour

What to do right now

You have stopped accepting invitations because outings are too unpredictable. The birthday parties, the playdates, the social events that other families do casually are exhausting for you. The isolation is real and it compounds the burnout. One connection this week. Text someone who gets it. You do not have to go anywhere. But the loneliness needs addressing.

What your brain just did

Your body

The isolation is compounding the burnout. Fewer invitations accepted, fewer friends contacted, less support available. The loneliness feeds the depletion.

Your brain

Social withdrawal in burned-out ADHD parents is a self-protective strategy that becomes self-defeating. The energy required for social interaction feels unavailable, but the absence of social support makes the burnout worse.

What this did

One connection this week. A text to someone who gets it. You do not have to go anywhere or perform anything. But the isolation needs a small crack in it.
