Which ADHD parenting pattern keeps catching you?
This is for ADHD parents raising kids who set off every button ADHD already makes hard. It looks at the shape your hard moments tend to take, so you can recognise it sooner.
Twelve questions, about three minutes. There are no right answers. You are noticing which loop keeps catching you, so you can see it coming next time.
Most parents land in one of five patterns:
- Reactor. You go from calm to reacting with no runway in between.
- Juggler. The things that matter slip out of your working memory before you can act on them.
- Looper. You keep explaining and correcting a dysregulated child when part of you knows they cannot hear you yet.
- Spiraller. After a hard moment you replay it, and the guilt takes up more room than the repair.
- Escaper. When it gets too big you go quiet, drift to your phone, or leave the room while still in it.
This is a reflective tool, not a diagnosis or a validated psychological instrument. It points to a pattern to notice, nothing more. What it is based on is set out in what this is based on.
